About

It’s been said that my “sumptuous tone & instrumentally oriented jazz chops” made me a New York City audience favorite & Critic’s Pick since I relocated from the San Francisco Bay Area in 2005.  What I can confirm is that as a regular on the New York City music scene, I straddled the line between Cabaret and Jazz and tried to find my own style and apply it to music of all eras. Whether I’m swinging, scatting horn lines or crooning a ballad, I try to connect with every word, and love entertaining audiences of all ages.

I recorded 4 Cd’s over the years, my first, From This Moment On, produced by my teacher and mentor, Wanda Stafford, is out of print, but you can find the other three on my music page with links to Apple and Amazon music. My first two CD’s were released on the UK Indie jazz label 33Jazz (33jazz.com), and I am honored to have been included as “one to watch” in in Scott Yanow’s 2008 book: The Jazz Singers: The Ultimate Guide. If you would like the digital books with liner notes for any of the CD’s, please reach out to me via the contact page. I’d love for you to know more about the amazing musicians, producers, composers and engineers I have been fortunate to have worked with.

I have performed at world-class venues & festivals in the U.S. & abroad, taught voice, worked as an arts administrator (www.tuscanyproject.com), Agent and been (and continue to be) a pasionate advocate for arts education. Currently I am not performing but hope to return to the stage when it is possible.

Thank you for visiting my website.

“…Immaculate vocal authority…. She’s At Home with vocal jazz from many different perspectives…”www.allaboutjazz.com

“When Shaynee Rainbolt navigates the shoals of Russ Garcia’s Trombone-laden arrangements, a beautiful artistic union forms — that of an emerging voice and an orchestral master.” Kirk Silsbee, Downbeat
Living in the moment of the lyrics, convincingly conveyed, Shaynee has never sounded so consistently involved in the words and moods, communicating insight into story and ambience set up by the transforming Trenner touch. “
